Monday Musings Jan

Sunday is a great day to reflect on your week and I often think about lots of different things and spend time looking at what I could have done better, how I could have handled that situation or what I could have said differently.

So I decided to share some of these thoughts (you really don’t want to know all of them) because that is also what a blog it for…

I have been thinking a lot about the latest Queensland election that is coming up ON MY BIRTHDAY of all days (how rude). Now I know you aren’t suppose to talk about politics or religion, but really that is all that is in the news of late… so that is what I have been thinking about.

I have always been a LABOUR support (I know don’t hold that against me) but I find myself disillusioned  with ALL politics at the moment! I don’t want to vote for any of them!!!!  So what to do. Labour allowed the ravishing and pillaging of our beautiful Country by letting the Coal Seam Gas industry in, but it seems that the Liberal/Nationals have run with it and it is all bout people trying to get more money and more stuff!

Why isn’t our government investing in renewable energy sources, when a country that has so much sun, is under utilising a free resources. Germany wants to get to 80% renewable energy by 2050 and you can’t tell me they have more sun than we do! Why doesn’t Australia have goals like this… why are we still digging up our ground and destroying our reef and contaminating our water when we don’t have to?

Honestly how much money and things do we need! Don’t get me wrong, I like nice things, but do you really need that 10th handbag or that 25th pair of shoes… or to the extreme, that 5 million dollar water front mansion or that 2 million dollar boat or that $250,000 car… if it is comfortable, gets you from A to B what is the problem!

So I’m just not sure what to do… I’m 40 something and thinking that going into politics could be a good thing, but is that what they all thought when they first decided to enter in? Did the system change them, corrupt them? Did they start out with good intentions and then it was so hard to push against the standard, that they gave up rocking the boat and found it easy just to go with the flow of everyone else’s corruption?

I know I have more questions than answers, but these are my Monday musing. I find that even just writing it out makes me feel better!

I hope you have a great week and I hope that if you have any answers to my questions that you will let me know what you think…

Thanks for reading! 🙂
